How is the Northern Ireland Memorial Fund sustained?

The UK Government and the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister in Northern Ireland have made important funding commitments to the Fund. The Republic of Ireland Government have made a commitment to the Northern Ireland Memorial Fund to contribute €1.25million over a three year period. Minister McDowell made the announcement at the Memorial Fund’s second fundraising Gala Dinner in Dublin in June 2004.

The Fund has held a number of gala fundraising events in Belfast and Dublin which have raised £400,000. We are also considering other fundraising activities outside Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Can I help as an individual?

Yes. In order to introduce and sustain a range of measures to meet the needs of victims and survivors over the coming years, the Fund requires significant additional funding. While the Fund will continue to lobby Government for primary funding, it will also need to look locally, nationally and internationally for additional financial support.

Would you like to support victims and survivors through the important work of the Fund? If so, please contact us.
